We spent the summer working, saving money, stealing every moment we could. We talked about our future apartment. Would it have a dishwasher? Could we afford a cat? Should we try to find roommates or live alone, just us, in our own space?
"Just us," Jesse said. "I want to wake up and see your face every morning. I want to make coffee for two. I want to be domestic and boring and completely, utterly committed."
"That sounds perfect," I said.
It did. It sounded like everything I had ever wanted and never believed I could have.
