A masquerade ball. Flickering candlelight. The scent of jasmine and sandalwood in the air.
Meera unknowingly danced with a masked stranger. His touch was familiar, his grip firm yet gentle. When the mask came off, her breath caught.
Veer.
Before she could step away, he pulled her closer, their bodies pressed together. His lips brushed against her ear. "You feel it too, don't you?"
A shiver ran down her spine. She tried to deny the pull, but it was too strong. Before she could answer, his lips captured hers in a slow, consuming kiss, igniting a fire neither of them could escape.
That night, Meera knew she was lost after the intense kiss between Meera and Veer.
After a few minutes, she ran back home, breathless, her heart pounding. Why had she done that? Was she truly falling for Veer Pratap? She couldn't deny the way he made her feel.
Her phone buzzed. An unknown number.
She hesitated before picking up. "Hello?"
"How was the night... did you feel something?" His deep, teasing voice sent shivers down her spine.
"Who is this?" she tried to sound firm.
Veer chuckled. "Don't you know your fate? Who am I? Do I need to tell you... or kiss you again?"
Silence filled the line. Meera smiled, biting her lip. "How did you get my number? Are you stalking me?"
Veer smirked on the other end. "Is it illegal to stalk a beautiful girl? Sweet dreams, Meera."
Her heart raced as the call ended. She was falling for a man she had no business loving.
